Timber Seasoning KILN
Seasoning is the process of drying timber under controlled conditions. All timber, both primary species and secondary species requires thorough seasoning, and the moisture content in the timber should be brought down to levels in equilibrium with the surrounding atmosphere.
Wood being a hygroscopic material, it gives off or takes on moisture until it is in balance with the relative humidity and temperature of the air surrounding it. When the wood attains such a balance, the wood is said to have reached its equilibrium moisture content (EMC)
To address the problems and the requirements for quality products, we manufactured conventional type, manually operated artificial seasoning kilns and chemical pressure impregnation plants. We also build customized heating and drying chambers for Bamboo as well with stacking trays and trolleys as the process requirement.
Standard sizes: 250 cft, 600 cft and 1200 cft
Chemical treatment of Timber
Timber is easily susceptible to borer, fungi and insect attack within days of its felling. Barring few primary species of timber, all secondary species and plantation timber needs chemical treatment either for termite or for borers or for both. Different chemical preservative treatments like CCB or Boron mixture could be impregnated into timber for indoor and outdoor use.
Treatment Plants operates on VACCUM-HIGH PRESSURE-VACCUM cycle ensuring proper impregnation of chemicals into timber. Provision exists for use of two different chemical solutions from the sump.
